On July 31, 2024, CMS released the FFY 2025 Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Prospective Payment System Final Rule (CMS-1802-F).
- SNF payments up 4.2% (3% market basket + 170 basis point forecast error adjustment – 50 basis point productivity adjustment).
- Code Mappings changed in ICD-10 Patient-Driven Payment Model (PDPM).
- Expansion of ability to impose Civil Monetary Penalties (CMPs) and promote correction for health and safety violations.
- 2% annual payment update reduction if not compliant in quality reporting program (QRP).
- Changed and Introduced QRP assessment measures.
- New FY 2027 process for about 1,500 SNFs to share medical records for validation.
This Final Rule CMS-1802-F is scheduled to be published August 6, 2024.
