On March 17, 2026 CMS released the FFY 2024 SSI File for IPPS hospitals. These files have the value that is to be used in the Medicare Disproportionate Share Hospital (“DSH”) calculation for hospitals with a Cost Report Year Begin Date between 10/1/2023 and 9/30/2024. The value may also be chosen to be the figure used on certain other Cost Reports for “as-filed” submissions. The detailed data for these published values allows for a potential SSI realignment to be evaluated for certain Cost Report Years.
